Kings Canyon Middle School Celebrates Schools to Watch Designation

Kings Canyon Middle School celebrated its recent designation to the Schools to Watch – Taking Center Stage (STW-TCS) program on February 11 with a special performance by the Kings Canyon honor choir, community resource booths and photo booth, remarks by dignitaries, and the presentation of a Schools to Watch banner. The school joins an elite group of 66 high-performing middle schools from more than 1,300 middle and junior high schools in the state and places the school among the top 400 in the country. The celebration included students, parents, Board of Education members, Superintendent Michael Hanson, community leaders, and representatives of the Schools to Watch program.

Kings Canyon Middle School is the first Fresno Unified school to receive the special designation to the Schools to Watch program. Only nine other San Joaquin Valley schools have earned the distinction.
