San Joaquin Fish Hatchery​

At the Fish Hatchery, students will see the conservation effort of the Department of Fish and Game undertakes to ensure the trout population in the lakes and rivers across the state are healthy for the ecosystems and the fisheries. Students will tour a building where fish eggs are spawned and the stages of life the trout go through until they are ready to be released into the wild. Students will have an opportunity to feed the adult trout in the waterways. As part of the experience, students will also have a chance to travel down the newly opened "Small Fry Trail" to learn the life cycle of the trout.

Note: This experience is "Outdoor" and includes walking. Please alert your students to wear shoes and appropriate clothing for the forecast.
