Book an Experience with Fresno Unified School District College & Career Readiness using SetMore

CAL Fire Station

Sectors: Public Services; Engineering & Design; Agriculture & Natural Resources; Building & Construction Trades; Energy, Environment, & Utilities

While visiting the CAL Fire Station in Sanger, students learn different career options available across CAL Fire. Formerly the California Department of Fire, firefighting is not the only assignment CAL Fire is tasked with. A lot of time and effort goes to prevention, education, and strategic use of resources to try to minimize the effects of wildfire. On the experience, students will watch a video of all the careers in CAL Fire, learn from current firefighters about their jobs, tour the barracks and other facilities, and get an up-close lesson on the capabilities of a modern firetruck.

Note: This experience is "Outdoor" and includes walking. Please alert your students to wear shoes and appropriate clothing for the forecast.
