Graduation Task Force

In 2012, Superintendent Michael E. Hanson commissioned the Fresno Unified Graduation Task force to examine the dropout issue and recommend strategies for keeping all students in school on target to graduate.  Chaired by former California State Assembly Member and former Fresno Unified Trustee Juan Arambula, the task force made recommendations on how to keep students in school on target to graduate. The task force worked collaboratively with organizations throughout our community and partnered with the Fresno Regional Foundation, the California Endowment – Building Healthy Communities, the United Way of Fresno County, and WestEd, an education research and development organization.

Why Graduation Matters

On March 1, 2012 Dr. Russell Rumberger, Vice Provost for Education Partnerships at the University of California Office of the President, gave a presentation on dropping out and why high school graduation matters.
