Edison High School will honor 160 graduating seniors who have earned a Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, Hmong or French. While Edison High has the most students in the district earning the Seal of Biliteracy, more than 60 students have earned the seal at Sunnyside High School and more than 40 students earned the seal at Bullard High. Collectively throughout district high schools, about 470 students will earn the Seal of Biliteracy this year.

The Seal of Biliteracy program recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. The seal is affixed to diplomas. Earning a Seal of Biliteracy benefits students immediately on a college or job application, and in the years to come if they decide to pursue a minor or major in their second language, or a career that requires skills in more than one language.
