Edison High School is proud to celebrate and honor 340 current 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who were among those receiving a qualifying score on their 2022 Advanced Placement Exams. A total of 842 students took at least one AP test, and a total of 782 exams received a qualifying score (grades 9-12 during the 2021-22 school year).
Edison offers 23 AP courses. AP classes provide college-level courses for students. At the end of courses, students have the option of taking AP tests administered by the College Board at high schools. Colleges may accept a score of 3 or better on an AP test as credit toward completing the corresponding course.
Senior Yosef Aklilu, Edison’s student body president, has taken full advantage of Edison’s robust AP offerings and earned a qualifying score on all five AP exams he took. “I am very pleased to see that all my hard work paid off, despite the stresses of junior year, and that I passed all my exams. Seeing these results has made me grateful for my AP teachers and has made me feel successful, which has instilled a feeling of anticipation and excitement for what comes next.”
“Edison’s breadth of AP offerings allows students to accelerate their learning and get a head-start on completing college, saving money and time,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson. “I’m extremely proud of the staff and students at Edison.”
