Edison High School’s class of 2018 has organized a First-Gen Inspire Conference, in conjunction with educational outreach organization Mi casa es Tu Casa, to help younger peers with the college process. The conference will offer workshops on financial aid, DACA resources and more. The event is free to attend and will include a keynote address from Reina Cardenas of Univision, bilingual workshops by Edison alumni and a resource fair for first-gen students. Daycare, food and entertainment will be available. Parents are encouraged to attend as well.

“This is a great opportunity for students who might be feeling anxious about their college applications. These young people are willing to share their experiences and give back to Fresno Unified, even after they have graduated. They are helping their community by building futures, together,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson.
