What: Chevron representatives will deliver STEM learning materials to Olmos Elementary through the Fuel Your School program

When: Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, 9 a.m.

Where: Olmos Elementary School 550 S. Garden Ave. (93727)

As a kickoff to this year’s Fuel Your School program in Fresno County, Chevron representatives will surprise Olmos Elementary School students with school materials to use for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities. The Fresno Foxes soccer team will also be on hand for the celebration.

Fuel Your School collaborates with DonorsChoose.org to support teachers by helping fund classroom materials. Teachers are encouraged to post classroom projects for STEM education. The submission period opens Oct. 1 and ends Oct. 31. During October, Chevron will donate $1 for every fill-up of 8 gallons or more at participating Chevron or Texaco locations – up to $210,000 – to support Fresno County classroom projects.

“Fuel Your School is a great way to help our teachers with a variety of student projects that they might not otherwise have the funds for, and to involve our entire community in supporting our students,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson.
