What: Smart & Final Charitable Foundation sponsors Scholastic book fair and gives each student three books

Heaton Elementary School will host a Scholastic book fair, sponsored by Smart & Final Charitable Foundation. Thanks to this generous donation, students will be able to take home three new books.
Speakers will include members of the Fresno Unified Board of Education, Deputy Superintendent Misty Her, Principal Laura Gemetti, a representative from Smart & Final Charitable Foundation, and students.
“We are grateful to community partners like the Smart & Final Charitable Foundation, for supporting our students by putting books directly in their hands and expanding their home libraries. We value learning and our community, and every opportunity to live those values is a gift to our Fresno Unified Family,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson.
“The Smart & Final Charitable Foundation is proud to partner with Scholastic to provide three free books to each of the 550 students at Heaton Elementary School during this special book fair,” said Tinamarie Squieri, manager, Smart & Final Charitable Foundation. “Education is a core pillar of our Foundation, and we’re excited to encourage a love of reading and provide a fantastic volunteer opportunity for our Fresno associates to further give back to the community.”
