March 16, 2020

Good evening parents and staff, this is Principal Munoz,

As you are aware, Fresno Unified has made the extremely difficult decision to close all schools for students beginning tomorrow Monday, March 16th through April 13th. We are committed to doing our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19, but acknowledge the hardship this has created for many of our families.

I am reaching out tonight to reiterate five important updates from our district:

First, breakfast and lunch will be available on a grab and go basis at our school, and all Fresno Unified schools, at their regularly scheduled times tomorrow and Tuesday. We are looking to streamline that process by Wednesday and will communicate with updates as we have them.

Second, if your student has any medications stored at the school that you need, you are able to come and pick those up from the school site tomorrow and Tuesday during normal school hours.

Third, our teams are working diligently to provide you and your students access to optional education resources to engage your student’s brain during this school closure and will have more updates coming this week.

Fourth, the Governor of California just called for, “the home isolation of all of those 65 or older and those with chronic conditions”. We ask that our staff, as well as our students and families, follow this directive.

Lastly, all school and district offices will be closed to the public except to pick up medication and to access meals for students. Our school sites may not have the capacity to answer phones during this time, so please direct all of your questions to the Fresno Unified COVID-19 Call Center at (559) 457-3395. Please check our website at Fresno unified dot org for all of the latest updates.

Also grades are still due Monday March 15th, 2020 by 4:00 pm.  Campus is open until 2:30pm, however it is advised that you work from home.  Custodial staff will be disinfecting the school

Thank you for your support and patience during this unprecedented time – and please utilize social distancing to keep you and your family members safe. Have a great evening.
