Fresno Unified is devoting the month of October to highlighting the hard work and resiliency of the class of 2021, whose traditional senior year experiences thus far have been greatly restricted by COVID-19. One of those efforts is a virtual Walk/Run for the Class of 2021 to raise money for the Fresno Unified Scholarship Fund. Corporate and community sponsors have rallied around the seniors, pledging more than $47,000 toward scholarships through the walk/run. Join them in supporting the class of 2021! The deadline to register for the walk/run is this Friday. All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt and swag bag.

The walk/run takes the place of the district’s annual State of Education luncheon, traditionally the major source of support for the Fresno Unified Scholarship Fund. Last year, the district awarded $118,000 in scholarships to 61 graduating seniors.

“Join us in supporting scholarships for our seniors through our Walk/Run for the Class of 2021. These students have missed out on quite a bit, and we want to make sure that scholarship funding continues for these amazing seniors, ready to take on the world,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson.
