The Foundation for Fresno Unified Schools has selected PNC Bank to provide investment advisory services for the school district’s scholarship fund. Fresno Unified School District high school seniors can apply for the scholarship to help cover the cost of tuition, books, housing, and other higher education-related expenses.
“We are excited to work with PNC to expand our scholarship program,” said Wendy McCulley, Office of Engagement and External Partnerships for Fresno Unified School District. “These scholarships enable Fresno Unified graduates to help pay for their college or technical education if they lack the financial resources to do so.”
Fresno Unified is California’s third-largest school district. To date, the FUSD Foundation Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $1.5 million in grants to deserving students. The fund received a significant boost last year when philanthropist MacKenzie Scott donated $20 million to the foundation.
“As we move into this exciting new phase with our scholarship program, and all that it means for our students, we look forward to working with PNC and the expertise they will provide,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson.

PNC has had a presence in Northern California for two decades. The bank opened an Office of the Regional President in San Francisco last year as part of a larger coast-to-coast expansion. PNC is now also the foundation’s bank.
