Students, staff, and the community will gather for a cultural celebration to honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez with the unveiling of a new mural. Adult school and high school students painted the mural as part of a cooperative project. The mural, designed by local artist Andrea Torres, honors Cesar Chavez while memorializing the social justice work of past and future leaders.

The mural project is a collaboration between English Learner Services, Extended Learning, and Fresno Adult School.

“For more than 20 years, we have gathered to honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez, to make sure our students understand his immeasurable contributions. This year, it’s an especially wonderful celebration because we are unveiling a new mural that has special meaning,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson.
