District leaders will announce a high-profile, multi-million-dollar donation and details about the district’s State of Education Gala on Oct. 6. This year, the State of Education event will serve as the official launch of The Foundation for Fresno Unified Schools.

The Foundation for Fresno Unified Schools is on a mission to ensure every student in the district has the tools and resources to reach their highest potential. As the strategic fundraising partner for Fresno Unified, the foundation is working with schools, the district and the entire community to accelerate progress for students through the funding of highest impact investments.

“We are excited to be able to gather with partners and supporters for the first time in three years,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson. “I have missed personally sharing the accomplishments of our district and our goals for the future. I also look forward to this exciting step forward in the history of our district, with the kickoff of The Foundation for Fresno Unified Schools and announcing its first multi-million-dollar donation. It’s going to be a great evening.”

Media are invited to join the State of Education Gala to capture footage, however no interviews will be available that evening. To join the event, please RSVP to Vangie Carrillo at Vangie.carrillo@fresnounified.org by 12pm, Thursday, Oct. 6 to ensure you are added to the media guest list. Media not on the guest list will not be able to enter the event.
