There are two mandatory reasons a school district must approve a request to another district:
1. Employment- The parent is employed within the boundaries of the requested district.
a. Provide: Proof of a minimum of 10 hours of employment at an address within the requested district
2. Senior Privilege- Student is entering grades 11 or 12
There are several discretionary reasons a school district may approve a request to another district:
1. Change of Legal Address- Student is attending another district and moved into the FUSD boundaries.
2. Childcare- Childcare provider is located in the requested district’s boundaries.
a. Provide: Childcare verification form with proof of address.
3. Continuing Education- Student currently attends the requested district
4. Impending Move- Student will be moving to the requested district in the immediate future
a. Provide: Written evidence- i.e.: lease agreement, escrow document
5. Siblings- Student has siblings attending requested district
6. Specialty Programs- Special program not available in FUSD
