Elementary School-Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)

Each student must be GATE certified in order to qualify for admission to a GATE Elementary School program.

GATE Elementary schools are magnet schools that attracts students from each of the elementary schools in the Fresno Unified School District. Currently, Manchester GATE and Yokomi GATE accommodate students in grades 2 through 6. The program is designed to meet the special needs of students eligible for the GATE Program. GATE students are exposed to a vast range of accelerated learning opportunities. Their critical and creative thinking skills are cultivated as teachers encourage them to discuss, debate and question. GATE also affords students a wide variety of co-curricular opportunities including music, sports, chess, robotics, or service clubs just to name a few. GATE School is truly a special place for students; one that gives them an opportunity to grow and develop their potential.

Middle School- Edison Computech 

Edison Computech 7-8

The Edison Computech Program is a 7-12 grade program, students move from Edison Computech to Edison High School.

Computech is a science/technology/engineering/mathematics (STEM) magnet school that attracts students from throughout Fresno Unified School District (FUSD). The school's rigorous, standards-based curriculum helps prepare students for high school and beyond and is supported by our practice of learning by doing. Project-based learning activities across the curriculum enable students to develop 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, research, communication, technology skills, and collaboration. Students are encouraged to explore higher levels of creativity and intellectual achievement, while acquiring a firm foundation in the academic and social skills necessary for success in life.

Sunnyside Doctors Academy 9-12

What is the Doctors Academy?
The mission of the Doctors Academy is to nurture the development of individuals to become health care professionals who will ultimately return to the San Joaquin Valley and provide culturally competent health care services to the medically underserved. The Doctors Academy Program is a contracted service with participating districts and offers students the following services:
• Academic Counseling and Support Services
• Health Professional Guest Speakers
• College and Career Readiness
• Medical Topics and Cultural Competency Exploration
• Summer Mentorship and Research Experiences
• Study Trips to Universities, Colleges, and Healthcare Facilities
