Transfers to other neighborhood schools that are outside of your attendance boundary.  Selection is administered via a random lottery.

• Priority date: September 2 - December 2, 2024
• Lotteries begin mid-January and continue until all available seats are filled.  In general, lotteries will start with high schools, then middle schools, and finally elementary
• Placements announced mid-April
• Transportation is not provided

Instruct students to speak, read, and write in two languages. There are choice Dual Language Immersion Programs, which are listed on the Transfers Request Form, and there are site based Dual Language Immersion Programs.

Apply for Dual Language Immersion Schools

If parent/guardian resides within the Fresno Unified School District boundaries and requests student to attend a school district other than Fresno Unified School District.  If FUSD approves a request, the approved application is sent to the requested District. Then the requested District will approve or deny the request in-to their District.

Must be renewed annually, beginning on April 1st for the following school year.

Apply for Outgoing Inter-District

Inter-District Transfer Request allows students that reside within the boundaries of a school district other than Fresno Unified School District to attend a school within Fresno Unified School District. 

Current Year Requests: final decision is provided to the parents within 30 calendar days from the date of receipt of the request

Future Year Requests: final decision is provided no later than 14 calendar days following the beginning of the school year for which enrollment is sought. To initiate this request, please go to your student's resident District.
