CAC Meeting Minutes March 15, 2023

Welcome and Introductions
CAC Chair Julie Wong: Introduced the staff to parents. Ms. Wong made opening statements, CAC mission, reminder for the expected etiquette, and expected educational partners forum comments time.
CAC Business
CAC Secretary Ivan Flores 17 Members / 52 Participants (37 In-person / 15 online) – Quorum was established, and CAC business took place.
Minutes: Reviewed the February minutes and no changes were recommended.
February: Eileen G. made the motion to accept the February Minutes with no corrections. Laura E. seconded the motion. Vote: 15 Yeas / 0 Nays. Motion passes to accept the February Minutes.
Local Plan Updates were provided by Dr. Sean V. and Julie W.:
A PowerPoint was presented by Julie W. about Camps, similar to the camps offered during winter break, that will be made available to all students. Efforts will be made to include and support all students and students receiving special education services. Questions:
- Will camps have Autism support? There will not be a camp specific to Autism but there will be support provided.
- Will there be aides at the school camps? There will be support for all students.
Congreso Familiar iPad Lending Program (Selene Gonzalez, Program Manager, and Patricia Albeno, Counselor):
Congreso Familiar is a collaboration of parents, professionals, and community agencies. The goal is to bring education, information and a sense of community to Spanish speaking families. The conference promotes and develops leadership skills families that have a child or family member with disabilities.
- iPad Loan Program is available for families receiving services from the Regional Center.
- Don’t have a reliable device or tablet.
- Families who want to learn virtually about services, resources, special education laws, etc.

A career-ready graduate is a student who has all possible options available to them upon graduation from Fresno Unified School District. This student has a strong academic foundation, has completed required courses, and has acquired the workplace skills and competencies necessary for success after high school. Many more programs like Aviation Project and Future Farmers of America will be developed.
Career Technical Education Elective Rankings for Students (Tyson Stucki, School Counselor):
Provided information on CTE Elective Rankings.
Educational Partners Forum was not provided as our meeting was running late. Parents were requested to submit Concern Form that were provided at the tables.
