Family Community Partnerships

Parent University aims to offer comprehensive family learning opportunities for all families across the district. With the help of our community partners, we provide year-round family engagement programs in multiple languages, including English, Hmong, Lao, Khmer, Punjabi, and Spanish.

Our family community partnerships include organizations such as the Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative, Parent Institute for Quality Education, Success Together, and the City of Fresno's Police Department.

CVIIC: Our Nation Will Benefit By Prioritizing Policies Favoring The Inclusion Of Immigrants Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC)

Students and families connected to local experts through our partnership to support families needing immigration services, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewal, naturalization, and family emergency planning.

Parents will participate in a variety of hands-on workshops, seminars, and ongoing support that offer families the tools to advocate for their children and know their rights as well as the know-how, responsibility, and opportunity to partner with schools, community, and civic leaders.

Families participated in our community partners' family learning workshops including, common core state standards, high school requirements, student support tools and resources to succeed, Q&A forums with the school’s leadership team, self-care for families, literacy, and STEM hands-on experience.

Families are provided opportunities to participate in a series of session, in an effort to connect school communities with local law enforcement resources and tour the Fresno Police headquarters and training facilities.
