- What is the Student Laptop 1:1 Program?
- The Student Laptop 1:1 Program is an initiative designed to provide each student with a personal laptop or computing device for educational purposes. This program aims to enhance the learning experience by ensuring equitable access to technology, fostering digital literacy, and promoting collaborative and interactive teaching methods. The benefits of the 1:1 program include facilitating personalized learning, enabling students to access educational resources anytime and anywhere, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills through technology integration, and preparing students for the demands of a technology-driven world. This initiative not only empowers students with the tools they need for academic success but also cultivates a dynamic and modern educational environment.
- Who is eligible?
- Elementary – Secondary Students (PreK-12th Grade)
- New or existing students can go to any of the 6 FLATS locations for a device or device replacement. *Replacement fee may apply
- What laptop is provided?

- What is the expectation of the 1:1 Program?
- Students are expected to bring their assigned device to and from school every instructional day.
- The assigned device is to follow the student as they progress through grade levels.
- They are not required to turn in their device if they move to a different school within FUSD or they promote through grade levels.
- The assigned device is to be returned if the student separates from FUSD or when they graduate.
- Internet Options for Students
- Option #1: Comcast Broadband Internet
- Comcast offers affordable high-speed internet at home with Internet Essentials. Go to internetessentials.com or call 1-855-8-INTERNET (1-855-846-8376).
- Financial assistance is available. For more information, call Fresno State’s Office of Community and Economic Development at (559) 278-0721.
- Option #2: Connect2Learn Cradlepoint
- Cradlepoints are safe, free, and have unlimited data.
- School communities benefiting from the LTE network include:
- Addams, Anthony, Ayer, Bakman, Calwa, Columbia, Computech, Edison, Gaston, Greenberg, Hidalgo, Jackson, Jefferson, Lowell, Roosevelt. Rowell, Sequoia, Sunnyside, Tehipite, Terronez, Vang Pao, Winchell, Yokomi, Yosemite.
- The LTE network reaches up to ½ to ¾ mile from the schools listed above in bold.
- Option #3: T-Mobile Hotspot
- If you do not live near any of the sites listed, your student is eligible to receive a T-Mobile hotspot with up to 100 GB available per year.
- Option #1: Comcast Broadband Internet
Student Technology Replacement Costs
Students are expected to comply with the Acceptable Use Policy for devices, which states being good digital citizens and being responsible for their devices. For devices that have any physical damages, lost or stolen, applicable fees will be applied. Fees are subject to change.
