Biliteracy Pathway Recognitions
The California Department of Education (CDE) has developed the Biliteracy Pathway Recognitions to celebrate and acknowledge students’ progress toward becoming bilingual and biliterate. These recognitions are awarded to students participating in programs that support biliteracy development at key milestones in elementary school (kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade) and middle school (8th grade). The goal is also to build awareness of the State Seal of Biliteracy and help students prepare to meet the requirements to earn the seal upon high school graduation.
