DEI Action Framework

To collaboratively provide FUSD schools and departments with the avenues and tools to combine their Cultural Proficiency learning, multicultural experiences, and culturally responsive practices to systematically decrease disproportionality and increase equitable and inclusive outcomes. Social Action projects conducted by the Department are intended to prepare students to identify, plan, and carry out solutions to problems within their school, community, and beyond. 

To collaboratively provide FUSD schools and departments with practices, strategies, pedagogies, and analytics to build on Cultural Proficiency learning toward pro-actively acknowledging and achieving equitable and inclusive outcomes. In support of this learning outcome, the Department assists school sites by providing culturally responsive presentations and trainings to students and staff.

To collaboratively provide FUSD schools and departments with the widest array of cultural opportunities and insights to build on Cultural Proficiency learning toward pro-actively acknowledging and achieving equitable and inclusive outcomes. To support this outcome, the Department organizes multiple cultural experiences for our students and staff to participate in, including multicultural art competitions, Native American cultural experiences, cultural/ethnic affinity groups to create a stronger sense of inclusion, etc. 

To collaboratively provide FUSD personnel with the professional learning to build an equity lens necessary for acknowledging and achieving equitable and inclusive outcomes. In support of this objective, the Department organizes multiple Cultural Proficiency trainings for staff, students, families, and the wider community.
