Ideafest Poetry Competition

Poetry Submissions

In recognition of the nation’s upcoming 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we are honored to launch the IdeaFest Poetry Awards, a judged poetry competition inviting students of all ages to reflect on the enduring ideals that shaped our country. This year’s theme encourages students to explore how the principles of liberty, democracy, and shared responsibility continue to influence their lived experiences—locally, nationally, and personally. Through poetry, students are invited to examine what independence means to them, how these ideals connect to their community, and how they envision the future of our nation.

Foster empathy, thoughtful dialogue, and an appreciation for diverse viewpoints as students articulate their own interpretations of independence, freedom, and responsibility.
