Arts Education

Students playing violins
The Arts Education Department provides support for arts education PK-12. These include dance, music, theater, and visual arts.  Instruction is based on all five strands of the California State Visual and Performing Arts standards. Skills are developed in a sequential manner and grade level development is vertically aligned.  Our work is to support teachers as they provide all students with an opportunity to engage in the arts and graduate college and career ready.

Fresno Unified supports arts education through multiple partnerships within the Fresno community that include: Fresno Arts Council, Fresno Art Museum, Artes Americas, Fresno Philharmonic, Fresno Opera, California Opera Company, Valley Performing Arts Council, Jazz Fresno, CSU Fresno, and the Kennedy Center’s “Any Given Child” Initiative.
