McLane High School offers multiple CTE pathways. From art, graphic design, and video production to health care or business careers, there are a wide array of options available to McLane students to discover their passion and find a career they enjoy.

McLane Finance and Entrepreneurship

Academy of Finance and Entrepreneurship

A NAF Model Academy, California Partnership Academy (CPA), and Linked Learning pathway preparing students for a career in the areas of banking and business by offering internships in a financial institution as well as work-based learning opportunities in investments, business management, marketing, and self-employment. Students in the Banking branch of the pathway can also be selected to work in the on-campus branch of US Bank as student tellers.

McLane Art Venture

Art Venture Production Academy

An award-winning and nationally recognized California Partnership Academy offering students an engaging, art-driven education in graphic design, photography, video production, and broadcasting. Students will develop knowledge and skills towards mastery of production tools earning professional certifications. Students in this pathway also have opportunities to experience hands-on projects and interact with local and state businesses partners from the digital media, arts, and design industry. After graduation, students can find work as animators, costume and fashion designers, lighting technicians, makeup artists, photographers, set designers, web designers, film makers, and much more.

McLane MERA

Medical Education and Research Academy (MERA)

A Linked Learning pathway, California Partnership Academy, and NAF Distinguished Academy preparing students for a career in health science and medical technology by offering real-world internship opportunities and an excellent college preparation academic program that provides multiple options upon graduation. Students have opportunities to experience hands-on projects, and interact with healthcare and medical professionals. They will also earn industry certifications as well as being involved in valuable internships. In addition, students have opportunities to educate and present relevant information to the public and to youth.

Teacher Academy


Teacher Academy

The Teacher Academy develops and supports high school students through their journey of becoming quality educators. It exposes students to a career in education by offering real-world learning opportunities that allow students to learn through meaningful work-based experiences including internships, employment, and/or school-based enterprises. This program outlines the steps to becoming a successful educator and provides a clear bridge to employment. By participating in the Teacher Academy program, students:

  • Can earn college units
  • Are eligible for a position as a paraprofessional with FUSD upon high school graduation
  • Gain field experience working with children
  • Participate in community service learning
  • Have an opportunity to take the NCLB and CBEST exams
  • Receive priority consideration for Fresno Unified’s Pipeline to Teaching Programs

McLane Internship

General Internship

The General Internship course is designed to give students an opportunity to participate in paid and unpaid internships during the school day. Students earn up to 20 elective credits for successful completion of the course and learn valuable employability skills with a designated teacher, along with industry-specific experience while working with industry professionals at work sites.
