Retiree Medical Premium Cost Breakdown
Retirees who retired prior to 8/1/2006 does not have a medical premium.
Retirees hired prior to 7/1/2005 shall assume the same monthly premium payments as all other active employees similarly situated until the Retiree reaches Medicare eligibility.
Retirees hired on or after 7/1/2005 shall assume the same monthly premium payments as all other active employees similarly situated.

Health Assessment Fee
The Health Plan Reserve Assessment is a $10 monthly fee (per individual; no more than $40) that has helped the Joint Health Management Board and Fresno Unified School District offset current and future healthcare cost increases. Retirees who retired after 8/1/2006 are subject to this fee. The Board has determined that at this time, such funds are not needed for this purpose. As of May 1, 2023, members are no longer responsible for contributing to the Health Plan Reserve, and the fee will be suspended until further notice.
