Eligibility of Students:
Each student enrolled in the American Indian Education Program is required to complete and submit a Title VI Student Eligibility Certification, 506 Form. You may download the 506 Form here ED_506_form_2026.pdf or contact Michelle Lira in Indian Education from the Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Michelle.Lira@fresnounified.org.
Eligible Students include those who are:
- A member of an Indian Tribe or band, as membership is defined by the tribe or band, (including any tribe or band terminated since 1940; and any tribe or band recognized by the state in which the tribe or band resides).
- A descendant in the first or second degree (parent or grandparent as described).
- Considered by the Secretary of the Interior to be an Indian, Eskimo, or Aleut.
- Member of an organized Indian group that received a grant under the Indian Education Act of 1988 as in effect the day preceding the date of enactment of the Improving America’s Schools Act of 1994.
