Phoenix Secondary

Phoenix Secondary Academy is a unique educational program designed to meet the needs of students exhibiting behavioral challenges in grades 7^th through 12^th for Fresno Unified School District.  The program creates an environment in which the staff builds strong relationships with students and parents and work to create positive learning experiences that support future success.  Phoenix Secondary provides therapeutic support in the form of school social workers, a school psychologist, a school counselor that involve students in individual and group counseling geared towards anger management, peer and parent conflict resolution, grief and self-esteem.  The academic program is structured to provide rigorous class offerings and intensive, focused support in areas of identified student need. Phoenix Secondary offers a wide range of electives including two Career Technical Education courses in Design and Marketing and Sustainable Agriculture.

Eligibility

• Grade level 7-12
• Expulsion or ERC referral based on pattern of suspension or significant behavioral concerns
• SPED RSP (61) and SDC (66) may qualify for placement
