ParentSquare Kindergarten Showdown
Welcome to the ParentSquare Kindergarten Showdown!
This year we’re encouraging our kindergarten families to join forces with us and get connected on our districtwide communication platform ParentSquare. Think of it as your virtual utility belt, where you’ll be able to receive important updates from your child’s school, communicate directly with teachers, sign up for events and more! Why does this matter? Because research shows that early family engagement leads to:
- Improved attendance
- Stronger reading skills
- A smoother start to school
And because we want you to be connected so badly, we’re kicking off a friendly competition. We’ve split our 60+ elementary schools into 4 groups, and throughout the year we’ll be working with each group to help get families on the platform, while also rewarding our superhero teachers who are doing the same!
Current Goal: 60% Connectivity
How to win: The mission is simple, get a high rate of connectivity. Connectivity = downloading the ParentSquare app, connectivity ≠ just receiving ParentSquare emails (everyone already does!).
Showdown Awards:
- Schoolwide kindergarten class connectivity rate of at least 97% (during your window of competition) gets you a chance to win a school-wide kindergarten celebration — think something exciting like a visit from Reptile Ron!
Note: 97% is the overall goal, but we'll start with a target of 60% and continue to increase as the competition starts picking up steam!
- First kinder teacher at each school to reach 100% connectivity: A special award just for those superstar teachers! (Let us know, so we can verify).
- First school to reach 100% kindergarten family connectivity: You’ll earn a district-wide shoutout and bragging rights for the year!
