About the Deputy Superintendent

A Message from Our New Deputy Superintendent 

My wife Sakinah and I are excited to return to Fresno! I spent twenty years here and graduated from Fresno State. Fresno is where I also met Sakinah, a graduate of Roosevelt High School. We started our family here, so we have many friends and family members in Fresno and Clovis. We are deeply invested in the well-being and success of the Central Valley. 

I’m genuinely impressed by the focus and commitment to achievement that the Fresno Unified school board and Superintendent Misty Her have outlined with their goals and guardrails. It’s refreshing to see such dedication in a large school district. Now, it’s up to the staff to collaborate and strive for excellence on behalf of our students. 

I look forward to supporting Superintendent Her and the school board in these efforts. Fresno Unified has tremendous potential, and we will work toward unlocking it, which will ultimately strengthen the Central Valley. I want to thank the school board and Superintendent Her for their vote of confidence in me. I look forward to meeting the students, staff, and the community and getting to work.
