Principal's Message

Tiger Times
In the last hundred years or so, high school hasn't changed much. Students trudge form class to class, sit in desks lined up in rows, listen to teachers lecture from the front of the room, memorize information in order to take a test and get a grade. If this is what you want out of high school, we can certainly provide you with this experience at Edison, but we are hoping for so much more from you. We are hoping to engage you, to stimulate your minds, and to give you an enriching, rewarding educational experience. But in order to make this happen, we need one thing from you: we need you to be willing.
Every school year is an opportunity to change you world, to open your eyes to new possibilities, to grow through new experiences. You can get caught up in the routine of high school and live your life governed by the bells or you can take the first difficult steps toward defining who you will be in this world. High school comes loaded with tremendous pressures to conform, to think the right thoughts, to dress the right way. You must struggle to rise above by focusing on you education, by concentrating your efforts on getting the most out of your skills and abilities. Excellence is not something you're born with but it is a habit, and high school is the time to start developing this habit. Are you willing?
As the Principal of Edison High School, my main function is to make sure that you are learning. When I see you on campus, I will always ask the same simple question, "What did you learn today?" I expect to have an answer to this question. If you don't learn something every day in each class, you are wasting a great opportunity. If you really want to learn, you can't just trudge from class to class, listen to you teachers lecture and let the information wash over you. The best way to learn is to interact with you teachers, ask challenging questions, engage new ideas, and most importantly, work hard. Are you willing?
The staff at Edison High School is prepared to teach you , to guide you, and to help you become independent thinkers. We will come to school every day with a positive attitude and an enduring belief in your ability. We know that challenging you to think , to grow, and to become you your best in difficult work. But we willing
Welcome to Edison High School
