College Opportunity Index compares number of 9th graders to number of graduates, A-G completers, CC enrollers, CSU enrollers, and UC enrollers. Data is available for every individual high school. Also, data is available on individual middle schools, including: access to highly qualified teachers and math/science enrollment.

Data comes from CPEC, CBEDS, and NCES and is unreliable because it requires college freshman to report high school origin. The data is more likely to be accurate for colleges close to home high school as staff at those colleges are most likely to assist students in retrieving correct high school codes.
