Windows 7 Upgrade directions
To upgrade to Windows 7, follow these steps:
  1. Download the Windows 7 ISO file.
  2. Install the VirtualClone Drive utility. This will let you "mount" the Windows 7 ISO file as a virtual DVD drive.
  3. Right click on the ISO file and choose "Mount using VirtualClone Drive"
  4. Run the Windows 7 upgrade by clicking 'setup' on the virtual DVD drive (if it doesn't autostart.)
  5. after Windows 7 is installed, run the following two commands in a command prompt window using right-click 'Run As Administrator' to register your Windows 7 license and activate:

slmgr -skms termserv8.staff.fusd.local
slmgr -ato

Windows 7 full install and 64 bit

Do you have an installer for full install, versus upgrade.  And do you have the 64 bit version????

Windows 7 RC

Do these instructions also apply to those who have been using the Windows 7 Release Candidate?  Ditto on Brian's questions.

Confusion

The website directions are a bit confusing. Do I use the download HERE link (in the first sentence) or the Windows 7 32 bit Upgrade link (second paragraph) to install Windows 7 over XP?

Registration Error

Even though the "Error:0x80070005 Access denied: the requested action requires elevated privileges" appeared, mine still activated.  Check Start>right-click Computer>Properties.  Toward the bottom of the screen is should read "Windows is activated."

After Upgrade?

Does the upgrade wipe everything? Does the upgrade remove the STAFF login? Any details before one makes the plunge?
