Software Download - Office Applications from Microsoft
Under the District's Software License Agreement with Microsoft, copies of the following Microsoft programs are available for all FUSD sites. In addition, after the Board approved a district license for Microsoft Office software, we negotiated the license with Microsoft to allow any employee of Fresno Unified School District who has a computer at work to be able to download the Microsoft Office Suite (Enterprise Edition) for their personal computer at home at no additional cost.
When you click a download link below, you will be asked to enter your Active Directory username and password (the same ones you use for accessing email.) By signing in and downloading the software, you agree that your use of the software will comply with the District's Terms and Conditions with Microsoft for Downloadable Software. Downloads from these links are logged to make sure only FUSD staff are accessing the software. This software is for FUSD Work at Home (WAH) employees. If you are no longer an FUSD employee you must uninstall any Microsoft software you received from FUSD on your home computer equipment.
Microsoft ForeFront Anti-Virus Software
Forefront is Microsoft's new anti-malware product. It is included in the District's School Licensing agreement. Forefront takes the place of McAfee, Norton*, etc. Installation requires ForeFront Installer to be download and installed. There are three updates required after the initial ForeFront install. First is to update the ForeFront client with the latest patches. The second is to update the data definition files for Malware protection. The third is for updating the virus data definition files for Virus protection.
*McAfee, Norton, and other anti-virus engines should be removed when ForefrontTM is installed.
Microsoft Office 2007 Platinum Edition
Staff favorite: One Note 2007 from Microsoft is widely regarded as one of the best note-taking and information management applications ever written. It includes the ability to create live shared notes pages; share notebook sections with colleagues via Sharepoint; import, search and organize scanned documents and images; record voice clippings that are searchable just like regular text; convert handwritten documents to text; mark sections of text with follow-up flags that appear in your Outlook ToDo list; and much more. FUSD staff use One Note every day to share and manage information. One Note is Superintendent Hanson's favorite program.

Work at Home
This Windows 7 Software available for download below is for internal FUSD laptops only, and is not for use on employee personal computers at home. FUSD's licensing agreement with Microsoft requires that each staff member receive his or her own individual DVD with unique license key, available at a nominal cost of $5, for Windows 7 installation on a personal computer used for work purposes. This license is for one computer at home, and only for a computer used by an FUSD staff member for his or her FUSD-related work.
Information Technology Department is currently waiting for the arrival of the Windows 7 installation DVDs and will make available as soon as they arrive. You must show your employee badge to obtain a Windows 7 DVD. Please be aware if you download the Windows 7 upgrade below and install on your computer, it will expire in 60 days.
Personal Use
If you want to purchase additional copies of Windows 7* or Microsoft Office 2007** for personal use, you will need to provide proof that you are an FUSD employee or parent of an FUSD student. Parents, students, and staff are eligible. You can purchase these personal copies at a discount under Microsoft's Student Select agreement. (details about how to purchase will be forthcoming.)

** Office 2007: approximately $59 per copy.
For early adopters, you can now download the Windows 7 upgrade here. To use it, you need to already have Windows XP (Standard or Pro, but not XP Home) or else Vista (Enterprise or Premium.) We're making this available on a 'self support' basis -- if you want to install it and you run into trouble or have questions, the Information Technology department and help desk will not be able to assist you yet. You will also need to download and install this utility.
To do the upgrade, you MUST follow the steps listed here after downloading the image file. Also, You will need at least 10GB free space on your disk drive to do the upgrade. We are only making the 32-bit version available at this time, as there are compatibility issues with the 64-bit version.
Office Communicator 2007 and Live Meeting
Office Communicator is the District's Instant Messaging/Live Video application. You can use it for text chat, voice chat, live meetings, and virtual whiteboarding.

Office 2000, 2003, XP Suites -These versions of older Microsoft Office Suites are available under the District's Microsoft Software Licensing Agreement, but are no longer supported by FUSD's Information Technology Department. You can download and install these versions, but they are self-supported.

Remote Desktop Management Client (Dyknow 5.2)
Install this Remote Desktop Management client on a student PC in order to manage it from the DyKnow admin console. Install the same client on the teacher's workstation to monitor (the role of the machine is determined by the domain user's sign-on; use STAFF\shortname or STUDENTS\shortname.)
Requirements: Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7. 32-bit only.
